any suggestions for battery operated fairy lights?
Fire hazard Absolutely safe, no doubt Just don’t eat it
If you use AAAAA batteries, the risk is minimal Hot glue also works
These string lights operate on low voltage and don’t get hot, so they’re unlikely to catch fire Hot glue works great However, I’ve noticed they’re more susceptible to metal fatigue, which can lead to wire breakage They’re actually insulated wire, as opposed to plasticcoated braided wire This also makes them more rigid If you want to attach them to fabric in my case, lightweight fabric, I recommend a classic metalfree or lowprofile LED string light They work perfectly in a fixture or on a small piece of movable fabric
These lights operate on approximately 3V 2 AAA batteries There is no risk of electric shock, and the LEDs do not generate heat Batteries alone are probably more dangerous, especially if they are old and leaking However, throwing the battery pack near the lights could pose a risk of serious injury Not recommended
If you’re concerned, turn them on during the day while you’re working or doing an allday activity and check them every couple of hours to see if they’re getting warm
As others have said, they’re fine However, there are many lowquality products on Amazon, so make sure you buy from a seller with good reviews
I’ll add more information I used hot glue to glue some parts of the costume together Will it catch fire
I use Cylapex string lights I don’t know how they compare to the others, but they’re the only ones I haven’t been able to turn on so far And it’s not for lack of effort they’re just very well made
