Window sticker stained our hardwood… any advice to get the stain out?
Try rubbing just the star with the Magic Eraser. Be careful not to touch the surface.
Are you sure your flatmate didn’t secretly go dancing at the club?

Stop damaging your floor. Just give it a name. Because it’s timeless. It’s dyed. It will darken over time.
Leave it there and let it trigger an intruder trap.
Use Murphy’s Oil Soap. First, mix the solution according to the package instructions. Then, spray the stain. Let the solution sit for about 10 minutes and then scrape it off with a card or plastic putty knife. Don’t use a metal putty knife, as this will also scratch the wood. Then, wipe the stain away. For Magic Eraser stains, use an English eraser to cover them.
There is a very good product called Goof-off that can help.
You could try hairspray (although it sounds strange). Spray the stain and wipe it while it’s still wet. I know it sounds strange, but it’s an old trick for removing ink from price tags. But I suspect if this trick doesn’t work, the stain could be permanent.
Just become a communist and leave it at that to show your fellow communists how committed you are.

I have the same star-shaped sticker on my table. It’s been seven years now…
I hate these window stickers. They ruin everything.
It looks like solid tongue-and-groove oak. It will be covered with a hard floor covering, presumably polyurethane. Once cured, polyurethane is relatively resistant to most solvents. However, some harsher solvents may dull it somewhat. So start with a mild product like isopropyl alcohol and then move on to d-limonene, paint thinner, etc. The isopropyl alcohol will likely remove the stain.
Forget it. If it doesn’t come off easily, whatever you use will probably damage the wood or its surface. A star is better than a small dent in the floor.
I could be wrong, but I’d try acetone. Let it sit for a moment and then wipe it off with a rough towel. My reasoning isn’t scientific, just a guess. You’ll have to touch up the color afterward.
