I bought it today for less than $100 on Facebook Marketplace. The branches are used, and I’m a little worried about having to repackage them after the holidays because the leaves are very delicate. The box says 1.8 meters, but it’s actually more like 1.5 meters. Overall, I’m delighted with this find. I’ve attached a photo of the box. I can’t find the copyright date anywhere. If anyone has any information about this piece, please let me know.
I really want one. Well, a smaller one, like the size of a table, but you know what I mean. My great-aunt had one, and it was amazing.
Start saving your toilet paper and paper towel rolls. You can store the leaves inside to protect them. I bought a tree spinner at a thrift store and placed my aluminum tree inside. Finally, I found a silent color wheel that lights up the tree as they both spin.
Mirro made a lot of aluminum, and over the years I’ve collected a lot of their Medallion Ware, as well as a lot of West Bend, Colorama, and other pieces. It’s a great find.
A competitor of Evergleam Specialty Aluminum Trees. Both were manufactured in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Mirro was known for its aluminum cookware. I believe it went out of business in the early 2000s.
Probably the most beautiful metal Christmas tree in the world.
When I have questions about aluminum Christmas trees, I turn to my friend at The Aluminum Forest. She’s a collector, historian, and historic preservationist (in my words, not hers). The website has tons of interesting information and great photos. Here’s a page on Mirror. There’s also a general page on tips for troubleshooting common aluminum tree problems.
If you have the space, you can simply wrap it in a large plastic bag, set everything up, and leave the lights on.
How cute, I love it.
I don’t know if the problem is the brittle aluminum, but if the branches get twisted, aluminum tape, designed for repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, is perfect for fixing them. We carry a roll in the box with our aluminum tree.
Branch sleeves are available on eBay. These are always inserted into the tubular sleeves from the trunk side and removed the same way. For several years, I’ve been rehabilitating a tree that someone stored incorrectly. That is, they inserted the branches incorrectly into the sleeves, causing the needles to bend backward.
Yes, I bought a medium-sized American aluminum tree on Etsy earlier this year. I also bought some antique cast iron tree stands with Christmas Tree Dollars.
