Martha stewart shatterproof christmas ornaments - Ideas

Sometimes I watch YouTube videos about Christmas decorations, and I’m always curious about where I keep everything when I’m not using it. I feel like I decorate minimalistically, but I still have five boxes in my closet dedicated solely to Christmas and Halloween decorations.

For those of you who have giant skeletons outside for Halloween, could you share your thoughts? Have you hidden body parts under your bed?

I thought you were going to ask where the hell they get that energy from. :joy:

My mom does it this way. She keeps everything in the attic. I’m pretty sure if I didn’t have so much space, I’d rent a safe, because my mom LOVES Christmas.

I decorate my house for Halloween and Christmas. I have about five Rubbermaid bags for each occasion and keep them in a huge unfinished basement.

I’ve worked for people who had entire rooms, or in one case, even a garage the size of an entire house, to store things. I think people who decorate a lot have big houses, at least that’s my experience.

I once rented a house, and the landlord kept all his late mother’s Christmas decorations in the basement. There were about 20 large Tupperware containers full of decorations! It was crazy.

Attic. My husband builds a pumpkin arch over the porch every year, and we have several bags of fake pumpkins in the attic. Under the porch, we have glittery, plastic-wrapped reindeer. In the attic, we have fifteen boxes of Christmas decorations, and I organize each holiday in its own space.

My husband is in charge of decorating, and I dropped a new bottle of Torani Peanut Butter Syrup when I tripped over some boxes while getting out of the car. We have a garage that’s adjacent to three garages. That’s a lot of boxes. But since we never decorated when we didn’t have space, I let him do it.

I don’t, but a friend of mine does. She lives in an apartment with her son. She rents a storage room specifically for her vacation things.

I’m not the right person to ask this question because I’m at an age where I’m trying to minimize my possessions, and the first thing I had to do was throw out the tacky Christmas decorations. Now I have a tree, and the ornaments are travel souvenirs and a few red balls. Everything else is gone, and I don’t miss it. The truth is, if we weren’t having a Christmas party, I wouldn’t even put up the tree; I’m fed up. If it weren’t for my mom, I’d probably go on vacation to escape the Christmas rush. God help me if I have to go to Costco.

I love decorating. I keep everything in bags in my garage. It takes up a lot of space, but I don’t use it for my car, since it’s further back from my house, and I prefer to park right in front of my door. The garage serves exclusively as a storage room and is packed. (It’s just a small detached garage.)

I have tons of Christmas wreaths and vintage Halloween and Christmas decorations. I also have a huge bare concrete basement that’s a great storage space. I also have home decor (five boxes full). Everything I own (even my Christmas decor) is secondhand, and most of it is vintage. So, my home decor (including my Christmas decor) has been very economical, and I’ve even made money decorating my house by refurbishing vintage items. I think it’s cost-effective, but it doesn’t fit my style.

My basement until it flooded.

We do this for certain holidays (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween). We store everything in our room above the garage. We use colored or clear bins: red and green for Christmas, black and orange for Halloween, and clear for Easter and Thanksgiving. They all contain a list of the items inside or a photo of the contents. We won’t use this room for storage. It’s hard to access, so we store Christmas decorations there.

We use a lot of natural materials that we collect on our property and then compost. Otherwise, everything is stored in labeled bins in the basement.
