What should I put about the fireplace? I’m a very neutral decor kinda gal but I also want to be festive
You could make a wreath for the holidays. For other occasions, I’d suggest a picture or print.
A large mirror or piece of artwork should be placed above the FP.
A lower TV. A wreath or a nicely framed piece of artwork above the mantel would be ideal, especially one that’s square or slightly vertical.
The TV is literally putting me in fight-or-flight mode at this point. Fix this immediately.
Yes, you like neutral decor. Even your Christmas decor is all white. There are no warm colors. It’s like living in a milk carton. I would buy artwork, mirrors, books, ceramics, sculptures, or anything else that would add a personal touch to your home.
Do not place any objects in this fireplace that could be damaged by the heat when lit.
What is the name of this table under the TV?
You could hang one of these cute posters in a clean, minimalist style. I can’t attach images, but I can search “clean girl aesthetic” on Pinterest. Something like:. It depends a lot on the room, but I think these kinds of things look neutral and still add a special touch.
If you’re going for something festive, I’d hang a giant red wreath, but you can opt for a more neutral one if that doesn’t suit you. And, in my opinion, your TV definitely needs to be at least two feet lower to look its best (and not cost you anything), but that’s not what you asked for, so go for it!
Art when it’s not too hot
Wallpaper, for example? You can choose one with a very subtle pattern on a white and beige background or a colorful one.
I have a wooden bowl carved from a tree, not mass-produced, that I fill with acorns, pine cones, cinnamon sticks, silver birch segments, holly, mistletoe, etc. I simply change the filling each season and generally stick to neutral, natural items.
