What are your strategies for evenly installing lights and reducing clutter How do you hang your ornaments How did you choose your decorative topper Do you put it on first or second What’s your tree decorating order Please share all your tips, tricks, and foolproof methods for a perfect tree
I got something like a machine gun cannon from the Grinch
First, unwrap the light strings to form a loop, then lift them up so they can be looped around the tree Attach the light strings to extension cords and plug them into the wall, working your way up from the bottom of the tree The lighted toppers attach to the ends of the top strings Once the lights are complete, create the garland, then add the decorations Once you’re done decorating the tree, move it back to a corner Make sure it doesn’t touch the wall while you’re decorating, and don’t worry about the decorations at the back, as no one will see them
Use two sets of lights to cover the entire tree Assemble the tree, wrap the lights, pushing them further toward the center, and hang the ornaments, making sure the same colors don’t touch Hang the bells in the empty spaces, wrap the entire tree with strands of gold beads, and place the star ornaments on top Make the tree skirt, trunk, and rail Stand back, admire, and exclaim, “Why is it standing so askew” Fight the tree Sometimes I even assemble the tree on a towel This makes it easier to move the tree forward and sideways for vacuuming and cleaning The tree skirt hides the towel
Okay, so first I put on some Christmas music Then I set up the fake tree and put in the branches I go around the tree and put in the lights It looks a little weird, so my husband tried his own weird way of “dropping” the lights Then I did it my way again I stood back and said, “That’s okay,” and ate a chocolate biscuit When my son came home from school, the “boring part” was over, so I helped him put in the ornaments I made sure the beads hung just above the branches, and that no two of the same bead were too close together When I put in the regular ornaments, he ate the chocolate ones My son put the snowman on top my husband lifted the snowman and said how pretty it was Then we did a lot of things decorating the mantelpiece, decorating the windows, and putting up a snow globe collection in his room And then we watched Christmas TV with the ingredients in the slow cooker
Place large ornaments at the bottom of the tree and gradually reduce the size of the ornaments as you go up the tree
First, make the lights, then the glitter, then the large ornaments to hold them in place, then the smaller ornaments to fill them in, and finally the picks
First, plug in the lights, of course, and start at the back of the bottom row Move all the branches forward, backward, and up Don’t forget the back I use five 100 light boxes for a 7foot tree For a 7foot pencil tree, I use two 100 light boxes and one 50 light box Then, use regular ornaments that fit close to the tree to hide any gaps These reflect light, so they’re not cheap, but they don’t take up valuable dollar estate Then, use more elaborate ornaments and special ones Use special places where the light appears to shine through the gaps or spaces in the branches Use the branches to your advantage you can bend them as needed Next, add ribbons or garlands Some people like ribbons first, which is perfectly fine, and it depends on the look you’re going for Now, anything that can be held in place with clips, like birds, small animals, or something similar Finally, add the topper Use a ladder to make sure it’s secure You can also add a skirt or collar I prefer a collar because it makes the tree look neater Now the tree is complete
Your tree wizardry has me buzzingthanks for turning my “Grinch cannon” chaos into a fluffandfestoon masterclass Lights first bottomup loops, double the strings for inner glowgenius for even sparkle hubbys “drop” method gets a retry Ornaments big bases tapering up, sentimentals frontandcenter, fillers for gaps and backs ignoredpractical poetry Garlandsribbons woven midlayer, toppers last star after the shine Family photo beads Heartmelter I’ll add ours Fluff on a towel, Christmas tunes, chocolate bribesfoolproof joy No more askew battles this year’s a balanced, catproof stunner Merry tipsharing, elves
My mother always told me to make sure people discover something new every time they look at the tree So I always put decorations under the “surface” of the tree And in years when I have to use an artificial tree live trees are often hard to come by in Malaysia, I wrap gold garland around the trunk to hide the joints between the branches and the trunk and to reflect more light into the tree
Arrange the decorations evenly around the tree But whether you do or not, your father will definitely remind you of this He’s the one who fell over more than 30 years ago It was probably caused by the heavy tree in front not being properly balanced on the stand But that doesn’t matter
Fill the tree with lights to make it appear as if it’s lit from the inside Use twice as many as you need I added programmable twinkle lights to a prelit tree Don’t wrap it all the way around, but wrap it back and forth This makes it easier to remove
1 First, your partner assembles the tree and fluffs the branches String the bulbs tightly from top to bottom, spacing them evenly some bulbs aren’t perfectly spaced, so leave them as is Then, do a quick check with your partner to make sure there are no gaps Don’t overthink it just make it bright and festive Next, add the decorative beads Larger beads should be placed inside the tree, and smaller beads should be placed closer to the ends of the branches Avoid placing two of the same beads next to each other let them hang freely The decorative beads, often shaped like stars or angels, are always added last It’s the finishing touch, and I love the moment when the tree is fully decorated This year, I’m going for something special I’ll put pictures of my grandparents on the decorative beads, and pictures of my mom, dad, uncles, and aunts near the decorative beads And near the bottom, I’ll put the grandchildren It’s like a family Christmas tree I hope the grandparents will love this as a surprise gift when they visit
Lighting Two people do this My lights are wrapped in string to prevent tangling, and I wrap them while I’m wrapping the tree I hang ornaments based on their sentimental value My favorites are placed in prominent locations I hang filler ornaments at the back of the tree The star ornaments light up, so I hang them behind the lights I always put the stars at the top of the tree If I have a nonlighting star, I put it last I then hang the lights, ornaments, beaded garland, ribbon, and, if necessary, picks I cut the ribbon into 6090cm lengths and thread them into the tree to create a woven effect This is my most important tip
First, install the lights, then install the floormounted plastic lights for the cats, and then add other decorations like ribbon bows or berry sprays If anyone has any tips on how to install the lights quickly and evenly, please let me know
When adults or teenagers turn on the lights, children run wild Without reason or rhythm
I have an artificial tree right now, but for a dollars tree, I put lights on it first100 lights for every 30cm of tree length Then, I decide what to decorate each year I put up the same sentimental ornaments every year, but I rotate the other ornaments Instead of hooks, I decorate with twist ties from I don’t have any decorative toppers, garlands, or ribbons I have no idea how to make them look pretty
