Hello, I’d like to buy a nice artificial Christmas tree. I’ve always bought one at Home Depot and it’s lasted a long time, but I want something more realistic. I’ve heard of Balsam Hill, but I’d like to know if anyone has any other ideas. Please don’t recommend it or try to convince me if a real tree isn’t an option.
Balsam Hill is expensive, but prices drop during the off-season. Read reviews of the product you’re interested in and look for them on YouTube. Not that you asked, but my tree lasts longer if I leave it up and covered instead of storing it in a box. The tree is much more durable, but I know not everyone can do that.
In my opinion, Balsam Hill is a high-quality Christmas king that takes second place.
Balsam Hill They have a Christmas sale in July.
I bought a tree from Balsam Hill in 2020 thinking it was high quality and would last more than a few years. I was wrong; it only lasted three seasons, and some parts of the tree are worn. I bought an extended warranty, filed a claim, and the purchase amount was immediately approved. Great, so I used my 649 Visa card, bought the same tree for a little more (of course, due to inflation), and was prepared to pay the difference. However, I can’t buy anything over 649 because they won’t accept two forms of payment. So now I’m 649 and I HAVE NO TREE. I’m very disappointed and will never buy from Balsam Hill again. Not only is the quality poor, but they also don’t honor the approved warranty for the same tree.
I did a lot of research on this last November. Obviously, now is NOT the time to buy one. Lesson learned. You need a tree with as many branches and lights as possible. You can create a chart and compare the two. If an online article doesn’t list the number of branches or lights, you can ignore it. In addition to what others have said, Google “viral artificial Christmas tree.” You’ll see videos of the most popular models, including the one from Home Depot and another competitor, Menards.
Balsam Hill has some great trees, but I’ve also seen them at stores like Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, department stores, etc. The trees don’t last as long if you take them down and put them back in the box each year. Neither do the lights. Both last much longer if you put them back together, give them a good shake, and leave them intact. We have a huge three-car garage and room for a large Christmas closet. So my husband built a round dolly, put wheels on it, and set up the stand so the tree stays intact year-round. We just roll it up and take it outside. I ordered a large metal collar to hide the stand and decorate the inside with flowers.
Can you leave your tree outside and use it as a seasonal decoration? I have a very fine tree by the fireplace. I’m older, so I need a lot of help taking it down and putting it back up so it’s always ready. My great-grandchildren also love having the lights on when they come to visit. A little tip for preserving this beautiful tree.
I’m still from Balsam Hill
Balsam Hill wins. I have two beautiful ones, one 17 and the other 4.
My sister has a tree on Balsam Hill. She lives there.
Balsam Hill, worth every penny
I bought one of those commercially available red sleigh trees for my parents through Christmas Lights Etc. What I like most is that it can be split into three sections and the branches fold back.
Balsam Hill tree with glowing lights. The ones with glowing lights last about 30,000 hours. I did the math, and if you turn it on eight hours a day for two months a year, that’s about 60 years. Plus, you can create many lighting variations. I think typical Balsam Hill trees only last about 5,000 hours, which is about the cost of a Home Depot tree.
Both are disassembled, disassembled, and stored in their original sturdy storage bags in the garage.
