when do people put up christmas tree

I’m curious to know when you’ll put your trees up here. I want to put mine up tonight, but it seems early.

The first weekend in December, my son’s birthday is on November 24th, so I like to keep it separate.

Until I was 45, I thought December 12th was the official day to decorate. Then my dad told me my brother’s birthday was on the 11th and they wanted to celebrate in a special way.

The day after Thanksgiving

It has been in effect since the weekend after Halloween.

The day after Thanksgiving, the fourth Friday in November for non-American families, but this year I need more happiness in my life. So I’m buying all the Christmas gifts I can.

It’s usually Thanksgiving, but I’ve had the worst year since my dad died in 2020, so we used it tonight because we needed something to lift our spirits around here, lol

We usually put up our Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving weekend. This year, I put them up all last weekend, including our small artificial tree. Our real tree will go up Thanksgiving weekend. Decorating the house takes so much time that I didn’t want to dedicate the entire holiday weekend to it. Besides, Christmas makes me very happy.

The day after Halloween, from November to March, makes me incredibly depressed, so festive decorations cheer me up.

This is the second year in a row I’ve posted this on November 11th. This year I posted it on that date, and later that same day, I checked my memories and saw I’d posted it on the same day last year. Looks like this will be the new tradition.

December 1st

Our tree was put up at the end of October when it arrived. We’re in the United States, so no Halloween worries. My daughter wanted to decorate it this weekend, so we thought, why not? She calls it the Lucky Tree because it makes us all happier.

I usually get everything ready the day after Thanksgiving, but this year it’s too late. My house is a lovely mix of Thanksgiving, fall, and Christmas. We lit up the house and tree this weekend so my husband wouldn’t have to be outside in the freezing cold taking care of it. I didn’t want to feel like I had to take everything down right after putting up the Christmas decorations. I’m trying to enjoy it as long as possible.

Usually after Thanksgiving, but I think we might do it earlier this year because the world is in a bad place right now and we need some cheer.

First week of December

Thanksgiving Day. It’s a beautiful and chaotic day, filled with cooking, decorating, kids, and football. One of my favorite days of the year.
