My parents always had a fake tree that they decorated with their own lights, which I loved But then I saw a nice prelit tree at Costco Are these really that good Will the lights break and render them useless It seems so hard to find a really nice, fullbodied fake Christmas tree that doesn’t have prelit lights What do you guys think My parents’ tree has been around since the late 90s, and it’s still going strong I don’t want to buy a tree that will have so many broken lights that I can’t remove it after a few years
Time is a precious commodity If you can save time by buying a nice tree with preinstalled lights, do so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the tree The lifespan of lights is often a matter of luck, and the price of the tree isn’t necessarily the deciding factor The cheapest tree lights will last forever, but the most expensive ones may have issues within the first year There’s no telling how long they’ll last

I wish I’d only spent 300 on preinstalled lights This 75foot tree is supposed to have 600 lights, right It’s too dark I was thinking about buying strands and attaching them to the tree, but since it’s flocked, the green wire would stand out, but I’m guessing the white wire would be just as noticeable I wish I’d just bought an artificial tree without lights and added 1,000 more lights

The advantage of Costco is that you can return it if the lights go out However, I personally don’t like prelit trees I worry that if even one light goes out, the whole tree will die Prelit trees can be really beautiful, and if you like them, it’s worth buying
My parents’ tree is from the early 90s It’s big and beautiful and doesn’t even have lights on I love it I told them I’d give it to them when they move out We already have lights on in the hallway, but it’s divided into three sections, and the middle one broke a few years ago Personally, I think a prelit tree looks much more lush and doesn’t let in as much light as a tree you string yourself And it’s a lot more hassle to set up than having to individually string 60 branches together on the 90s tree
